• HISTORY ASPECTS:
The Hawker Hurricane Mk I, an iconic British single-seat fighter aircraft, played a crucial role in the early years of World War II. Designed and built by Hawker Aircraft Ltd., the Hurricane became one of the RAF’s primary fighters during the Battle of Britain in 1940. Its construction featured a fabric-covered, metal-frame design, and it was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine.
Entering service in 1937, the Hurricane demonstrated its effectiveness during the Battle of Britain, where it became the backbone of the RAF’s Fighter Command. The aircraft showcased remarkable versatility, serving not only as a fighter but also as a ground-attack aircraft. Its rugged design and impressive firepower, typically armed with eight .303 Browning machine guns, contributed significantly to the defense against German Luftwaffe raids.
This 1:72 scale model pays homage to the historic aircraft that defended Britain’s skies during critical wartime moments. Precision-engineered and carefully detailed, it accurately represents the distinctive features of the Hurricane. Aviation enthusiasts and history buffs alike will appreciate the opportunity to own a piece of aviation history and showcase the heroism of the Hurricane pilots who played a vital role in the defense of freedom.
